dog names

When choosing a name for your dog to learn, remember to be kind to your pet as you do not want to have to call his name in a public place if you name him 'Teddy'.

Try not to name your dog after a family member, friend or neighbour or at least try to avoid this as it can be confusing if you are calling your dog and your neighbour comes over to you!

If your dog is intended to be a family pet around children, adults and the elderly pick an easy name for them to remember and avoid potentially upsetting names like 'idiot, killer' etc.

When you have chosen a name for your dog, stick with it and do not change it when it suits as this will lead to ultimate confusion for your poor dog.

Call your dog using his name as frequently as possible using a calm voice and always reward with a petting when he comes to you.
