bird names

When choosing a name for your bird to learn, remember to be kind to your pet bird and try not to name your bird after a family member, friend or neighbour or at least try to avoid this as it can be confusing if you are calling a family member or your neighbour and your bird responds!

If your bird is intended to be a family pet around children, adults and the elderly pick an easy name for them to remember and avoid potentially upsetting names like 'idiot, killer' etc.

When you have chosen a name for your bird, stick with it and do not change it when it suits as this will lead to ultimate confusion for your poor bird.

Call your bird using his name as frequently as possible using a calm voice and at some stage they will learn that you are trying to get their attention.
